About This Project

The new Interactive Classroom at Deakin University Waurn Ponds provides a modern training facility for student teachers to learn in an cutting edge classroom environment. The flexible space offers the latest technology-enriched teaching tools, such as smart boards, video conferencing and a class set of iPads, alongside hands on physical teaching facilities including a wet area with sinks and a cooking demonstration zone. Two existing classrooms were opened up to create one large, flexible space that can be used for both team teaching and smaller group learning. Cotter Reid Architects used a bright, fun colour palette to stimulate students imaginations and combined this with a highly flexible layout and furniture options to create a dynamic and progressive learning environment.
